Franco will report to the Mets’ Class-A affiliate Columbia Fireflies of the South Atlantic League reports MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.

The younger Franco was originally taken in the 2010 MLB draft by the Mets but decided to go to play college ball at Brown University. Once completing college, Franco entered the draft once more in 2014. This time around he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 38th round.

Franco remained in the Braves organization until 2016, where he signed a minor league deal with Chicago White Sox.

In his 269 professional at-bats, the 25-year-old has 71 hits and 28 RBIs.
