Mets sign Cody Asche to minor league deal

The New York Mets have signed third baseman/outfielder Cody Asche to a minor league deal. He will report to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Asche was released from a minor league deal with the New York Yankees on Tuesday.

Asche, 27, is a career .234 hitter in 390 major league games over five seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox.

Asche played 19 games for the White Sox in 2017, hitting .105 with four RBIs and 21 strikeouts in 62 plate appearances.
