Mets settle for series split with Braves, presented by W.B. Mason

The Mets offensive futility and a late Braves outburst marred a strong performance from Bartolo Colon as New York settled for a split of their four-game series with a 5-2 loss on Sunday afternoon at Turner Field.

In case you missed it…

  • Colon allowed a first-inning solo homer to Freddie Freeman and nothing else over seven innings. His three-game winning streak came to an end despite allowing just the one run on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts
  • Yoenis Cespedes had an RBI groundout and Wilmer Flores added an RBI single in the ninth to help the Mets avoid being shut out for the eighth time this season.
