If you’re counting on Seth Lugo being in the bullpen or in Triple-A to start the season, you may want to slow down a bit. The 28-year-old right-hander made the start for the Mets on Saturday in Port St. Lucie and looked really good.
Granted, the St. Louis Cardinals didn’t exactly field their best lineup for this weekend matchup, but still, Lugo deserves credit for the two scoreless innings he threw. Lugo faced eight batters, surrendered one hit, struck out one, and hit another. He looked comfortable and the ball was coming out of his hand well.
