Fresh off a brutal weekend in Miami that saw them lose two of three games to the worst team in baseball, the Mets (21-25) head to Cleveland for a three-game series against the American League Central-leading Guardians (30-17), a team that has the fourth-best record in baseball.
The biggest story coming out of the Mets’ losing weekend was that of Edwin Díaz, the superstar closer who has struggled mightily in his recent outings. While the rest of the Mets’ bullpen has performed admirably, long-term success from the relief corps will depend upon Díaz returning to better form.
