The New York Mets and Luis Rojas are working on a multi-year deal that will result in Rojas becoming the team’s new manager, according to Anthony DiComo. Rojas will replace Carlos Beltran, whose tenure with the team ended before managing a single game as a result of his involvement in the Astros’ cheating scandal.
Since the news of Beltran’s departure broke on Thursday, Rojas’ name has come up as a possible replacement. The 38-year-old has worked inside the Mets’ organization since 2007, when he was hired as a coach for the Dominican Summer League Mets.
