Something shocking has happened to the Mets the past few weeks - they appear to have gotten smarter.
With everyone thinking there was no way they would make any trades, they bring in Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson and Yoenis Cespedes. They also brought up Michael Conforto, and on Monday, with the whole world expecting the rookie to be sent back down to make room for Michael Cuddyer, Eric Campbell, not Conforto, was shipped to Vegas.
I was waiting all day for the Mets to make the move and ready to vent when Conforto got sent down, but clearly the FO not only knows it's in a pennant race, it believes the Mets can win it and future be damned, let's go for it.
