The Mets announced this afternoon that right-handed flamethrower Noah Syndergaard was diagnosed with merely a low-grade hamstring strain after getting an MRI. He had left the Mets’ game on Saturday night against the Cardinals after six innings because of the injury.
While his numbers on the season aren’t great, Syndergaard has been much better since the beginning of May. In nine starts over that span, he has a 3.54 ERA with 54 strikeouts and 13 walks in 61.0 innings. That’s still not exactly his best work, but after ending the month of April with a 6.
