Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen addressed injuries to Marcus Stroman and Jed Lowrie during a press conference this afternoon. He said that Stroman will face live hitters tomorrow and should be ready to play when his calf heals. Stroman sustained a tear in his left calf during an intrasquad game on July 12 and has not pitched so far this season. The injury is believed not to affect Stroman while he pitches, but makes it difficult for him to field his position.
Van Wagenen also said that doctors diagnosed Lowrie with PCL laxity in his left knee, and he specified that his pain increases when not wearing his largest brace.
