We all know the one position the New York Mets could afford to upgrade the most: catcher. It’s especially frustrating to see what they have put behind the plate this year when you take a deeper look into the franchise’s history.
Essentially, the Mets went from Jerry Grote to John Stearns to Gary Carter to Todd Hundley to Mike Piazza to whatever the heck they have done for the last decade. There were a few hiccups in between those five. However, for the most part, the Mets always had a catcher they could count on.
