Mets’ Ruben Tejada tearing it up at Triple-A Syracuse

Ruben Tejada is batting batting .457 in his first 10 games for Triple-A Syracuse. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI in Syracuse’s 4-2 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Tejada returned to the organization on a minor league deal in spring training to provide the Mets with infield depth. He last played for the Orioles in 2017, hitting .230 in 41 games played.

Robinson Cano is eligible for removal from the injured list Sunday, but Callaway was unsure if that would occur or if the team would wait until returning home to activate the second baseman.

Cano has been sidelined with strained left quadriceps.
