Mets rethinking deGrom after Dodgers’ Game 4 Kershaw bet

Clayton Kershaw will return on short rest for the Dodgers to pitch Tuesday, regardless of the result in Game 3 of the NLDS. But the Mets’ plans appear flexible.

After initially saying it wasn’t realistic for Jacob deGrom to return on short rest to pitch Game 4, manager Terry Collins said Monday it could be an option — if the Mets are down 2-1 in the series.

If the Mets take a 2-1 lead in the series, Steven Matz is sure to get the start, according to Collins.

Kershaw has pitched on short rest previously in the postseason.
