According to Pat Ragazzo on X, the Mets have ‘some level of interest’ in a reunion with Max Scherzer on a one-year contract. Scherzer, who was a member of the Mets in 2022 and part of 2023, started nine games for the Rangers last season.

Scherzer signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Mets in November of 2021 which, at the time, had the largest average annual value in baseball history ($43.3 milion). In Scherzer’s only full year as a Met, he was quite good; over 23 starts, Scherzer put up a 2.
