The Mets are reportedly interested in free agent 1B/OF Adam Lind, reports Buster Olney of ESPN.
The 34-year-old, lefty-swinging Lind hit .303//362/.513 with 14 HR in 116 games for the Nationals in 2017 while splitting time between first base and left field.
Lind has had stark platoon splits throughout his career, slashing .288/.348/.504 against righties but just .217/.263/.329 against lefties.
The Mets' interest in first basemen stems from them not being prepared to hand the first base job to Dominic Smith in 2018, which GM Sandy Alderson intimated earlier this offseason.
