With a 25-man roster spot open and their bullpen struggling and running on fumes, the Mets are calling RH reliever Tim Peterson up from Triple-A Las Vegas, according to multiple reports. They are also calling up RHP Scott Copeland from Double-A Binghamton, reports Anthony Dicomo of MLB.com.
The 27-year-old Peterson and 30-year-old Copeland are not on the Mets' 40-man roster, but room can be made for one of them by transferring Juan Lagares to the 60-day DL. An additional move will have to be made to clear another 40-man spot if the Mets are activating both pitchers.
