The Mets on Wednesday continued to restock their front office — hiring Red Sox executive and former Royals general manager Allard Baird as their new VP of player development and scouting, sources told The Post’s Joel Sherman and Mike Puma.
The move — expected to be made official later Wednesday — comes one day after new GM Brodie Van Wagenen named Adam Guttridge as assistant GM for systematic development, expanding the Mets’ less than state-of-the-art analytics department.
Baird, 57, was GM of the Royals from 2000 until his firing in 2006.
