Ahead of their game in San Francisco this afternoon, the Mets have recalled right-handed pitcher Walker Lockett, who gets the start against the Giants in Zack Wheeler’s place, and optioned right-handed relief pitcher Jacob Rhame to Triple-A Syracuse.
Lockett, who was acquired over the winter in exchange for Kevin Plawecki, has made two starts for the Mets at the major league level so far this year, and they haven’t gone well. In 7.2 innings, he’s given up ten runs, all of which have been earned, with six strikeouts and three walks.
