In addition to optioning Tylor Megill to Triple-A Syracuse after last night’s game, the Mets also sent down left-handed reliever Danny Young. Relievers Tyler Jay and Matt Festa were recalled to help give the bullpen some fresh arms in their current 17-games without an off-day stretch.
Young has had three stints with the big league club this season, and for his first ten appearances, Young looked like a legitimate second lefty out of the bullpen, putting up a 0.87 ERA across his first nine and a third innings. However, in back to back games this weekend, Young went just a third of an inning, giving up two earned runs in each appearance.
