The New York Mets simply cannot catch a break. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports has announced that the organization has recalled Sean Gilmartin from Triple-A Las Vegas and has placed Jim Henderson on the 15-day disabled list with right biceps tendonitis.
Henderson was removed from the game on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves after tossing only 10 pitches in just 1/3 of an inning.
It was announced that Henderson was removed from the game due to an “impingement in his right shoulder.”
Mets manager Terry Collins told reporters he knew something was off after Henderson threw his first pitch in that inning:
“We kind of picked it up when he started the inning his first pitch was 91 (mph) so that was kind of an indication that something might be amiss,” Collins said after the game.
