The Mets optioned infielder José Peraza to the alternate training site Wednesday night and have called up left-handed pitcher Daniel Zamora to take his place on the active roster. Zamora will be available to pitch in tonight’s game in Philadelphia.
A left-handed reliever, Zamora appeared in 33 games for the Mets in 2018 and 2019, posting a 129 ERA+ in 2018 before dropping to a 83 ERA+ the following season. He appeared with the team for a week in 2020 but did not make an appearance, spending most of the season at the team’s alternate training site in Brooklyn.
