Prior to tonight’s game against the Boston Red Sox, the New York Mets made a few changes to their roster. The team announced that they would be calling up Brian Dozier and Daniel Zamora. To make room on their roster, the club placed Eduardo Nunez on the IL and designated Hunter Strickland for assignment.
Dozier, whom the Mets signed on July 22 in order to provide some veteran infield depth to their player pool, will get his chance to make an impression immediately, as he has been inserted into tonight’s lineup at second base in place of Robinson Cano.
