After taking the Mets to the World Series, Terry Collins will return to manage the team through 2017.
After reaching the postseason for the first time as a major league manager, Terry Collins was rewarded in the form of a two-year contract extension. As reported by Kristie Ackert of the Daily News, the Mets will announce their two-year deal with Collins tomorrow.
With Yoenis Cespedes, Daniel Murphy, and seven other Mets entering free agency, Collins will be a figure of stability with the organization entering the 2016 season. The move will further extend Collins's tenure in New York, having already posted a cumulative 394-416 record with the Mets over five seasons.
