The New York Mets announced on Sunday morning the re-assignments of outfielder Gregor Blanco and infielder Danny Espinosa. After sending the two veterans to the minor leagues, the Mets now have 39 players left in their Major League camp.
In December, Blanco signed a minor league contract with New York. Last year he played 68 games for the San Francisco Giants, as the 35-year-old slashed .217/.262/.317 with 2 homeruns. This spring he hit .129 and was unable to steal a base on his two attempts. He owns a lifetime .
