Last Saturday, my father and I sat with the 7 Line Army to pack out center field for the New York Mets game against the Atlanta Braves. Along with over 40,000 other members of the Queen’s faithful, we were hoping for a victory.
Driving to the stadium that day, the sun was shining, there was a charming pre-game ceremony honoring the 50th anniversary of the 1969 World Series Champion New York Mets. Long Island native Steven Matz was set to start the game.
Unfortunately, the game only made it to the top of the third inning before having to be suspended due to an incoming rain storm.
