The Mets and WCBS are closing in on having a new voice on their radio team, The Post has learned.
Wayne Randazzo is the clear front-runner to join Howie Rose in the Mets’ newly constructed booth, according to sources. Randazzo and the Mets’ new radio partner, WCBS, are just starting negotiations on a contract.
If there are no issues, then Randazzo, 34, would replace Josh Lewin as Rose’s partner in the booth as the Mets move their games from WOR to WCBS.
Before a decision was made if Lewin would return, he accepted a job with the radio home of the San Diego Padres.
