The Mets made a roster move and promoted pitcher Seth Lugo from Triple-A Las Vegas. The righty had been starting for the 51s and could presumably be used in the same manner as Sean Gilmartin, as both a starter and a reliever. Gilmartin will be returning to Las Vegas as he has been ineffective since returning to the majors this season.
Lugo’s numbers are unimpressive so far this season in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He sports a 3-4 record and a 6.55 ERA. He does not strike out many batters, he only has 55 strikeouts in 68.
