Mets’ power show rubs off on James Loney at perfect time

MIAMI — Powerball was alive and well in South Florida on Friday, with a new number emerging to make the Mets feel like a million dollars.

James Loney — wearing Daniel Murphy’s old No. 28 since his arrival earlier this week — can at least say his 100th career homer was a big one.

The first baseman’s two-run clout in the seventh inning was the jolt a sagging Mets lineup needed to beat the Marlins 6-2 and snap a two-game skid.

On the day David Wright was placed on the disabled list with a herniated disk in his neck that will prevent him from participating in baseball activities for at least the next 6-8 weeks, the Mets certainly appreciated the tie-breaking blast from Loney, in his third start since arriving in a trade with the Padres.
