Mets’ postseason dream over after Brewers’ win

The Mets’ Cinderella playoff run is officially over.

Instead, the Brewers have claimed the second wild-card spot and will be headed to the postseason after beating the Reds, 9-2, Wednesday night.

A grand slam by Ryan Braun and a solo shot from Eric Thames led the Brewers to a six-run first inning and their second straight playoff trip.

The Mets, meanwhile, will miss the postseason for the third consecutive year, regardless of whether they hold on to beat the Marlins on Wednesday night.

Changes are likely coming for the Mets, with manager Mickey Callaway a likely target to be canned following a miserable first half that put the Mets too far behind the pack.
