With nine games in the books for 2025, the Mets are 6-3 and in second place in the National League East—one game behind the 7-2 Phillies. Overall, the offense has gotten off to a somewhat sluggish start with the exception of Pete Alonso and to a lesser extent Juan Soto. The Mets have an 83 wRC+ as a team over the first nine games of 2025, which is 21st in baseball. Strangely enough, one of the only places the Mets are getting consistent production offensively is out of the catching position where they are missing Francisco Alvarez to start the season.
