It has definitely been a mixed bag for the Mets since the calendar turned to the month of August. After taking two of three from a solid Twins team to finish out a positive month of July, the Mets dropped two out of three to the Angels in Anaheim. They bounced back with a decisive victory in a one-off makeup matchup with the Cardinals and took two out of three from the Rockies, but then finished the tough West Coast roadtrip on a terrible note by getting swept by the Mariners and scoring just one run across the three games.
