The Mets’ torrent offense from the week of June has cooled off considerably as the calendar has turned to July, unfortunately. Though the offense put up a crooked inning in the tenth in both Monday and Tuesday’s games, they were shut out on Thursday and held to just two runs on Friday. The Mets’ top performers of late have continued to produce, but not quite at the torrid clip they had been for the past couple of weeks, resulting in no fireballs awarded this week.
The Mets’ best hitter this week has been Francisco Lindor, whose clutch RBI hit in the ninth inning yesterday turned out to be a game-winner.
