Unlike the hitting meter, which is trending in a positive direction, the pitching meter went the opposite way. But it started in such a great place to begin with that it would’ve been difficult for the pitching staff to maintain that level of performance. The Mets played in a lot of high scoring games this week, but they also played in a lot of close games and the bullpen did a pretty good job at holding the fort for the most part. The Mets had two poop emoji worthy performances from starting pitchers, but they were able to overcome one of them with some strong work from the bullpen and the offense bailing them out.
