After diagnosing right-hander Matt Harvey with a stress injury to the scapula bone in the right shoulder, the Mets have placed him on the 10-day disabled list. They haven’t updated the timeline for his return since yesterday’s announcement, so for now, it’s still “a few weeks.”
The Amazin’s were playing short on the bench after Asdrubal Cabrera and Neil Walker both went on the disabled list, so to replace Harvey, Matt Reynolds has been given the call. Reynolds will likely fill in all over the infield, and will hopefully get more playing time than Jose Reyes, who is still struggling heavily on offense.
