Prior to this afternoon’s game against the Brewers, the Mets placed J.D. Davis on the injured list with a left hand sprain, effectively ending his 2021 season. To take his place on the roster, the club activated Sean Reid-Foley from the 60-day IL. They designated Albert Almora as a corresponding move to Reid-Foley’s return.
Davis has been plagued by injuries related to his left hand all season long, which has never allowed him to get into a real rhythm. He missed all but one game in May and June due to a left hand sprain, and return right after the All Star break He finishes his year hitting .
