The Mets have placed RH reliever Bobby Wahl on the 10-day DL due to a right hamstring strain and promoted LH reliever Daniel Zamora from Double-A Binghamton, the team announced Friday.
Wahl, who was acquired in July from the A's in the Jeurys Familia deal, allowed six runs in 5.1 innings (seven appearances) while walking four and striking out seven for the Mets after being promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas.
The 25-year-old Zamora's first Mets appearance will be his big league debut.
He has a 3.48 ERA in 40 appearances for Binghamton this season with 69 strikeouts and 16 walks, and has fared better against right-handers (hitting .
