BALTIMORE -- The Mets placed reliever Bobby Parnell on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis before Tuesday's game against the Orioles and recalled righthander Logan Verrett from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Parnell, who is coming back from Tommy John surgery, has been ineffective of late and drew boos from Mets fans at Citi Field after a pair of high-leverage flops against the Pirates last weekend.
Parnell is 1-3 with a save and a 5.59 ERA this season. He suffered two losses in the Pirates series.
Parnell allowed two earned runs and three hits without retiring a batter in Friday night's 3-2 loss.
