Star Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard took the future of the franchise into his hands Thursday — whizzing through the streets of Manhattan on a Bird electric scooter with just his ponytail for head protection.
The 6-foot 6 Texas-born pitcher flashed a grin as he cut across lanes of traffic on busy West Houston Street in his SoHo neighborhood, risking life, limb and his $6 million arm.
Syndergaard, 27, appeared in good spirits after days after dominating the Nationals on Labor Day — bouncing back from the worst start of his career to win the game 7-3 at Nationals Park.
