Dillon Gee has cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Las Vegas, the Mets announced on Tuesday.
Gee was designated for assignment last week, and Sandy Alderson intimated at the time that the club would either trade Gee or send him to Triple-A Las Vegas once he cleared waivers.
Gee, who is arbitration eligible after the season, is owed slightly less than $3 million for the remainder of this season.
Before being designated for assignment, Gee had been moved to the bullpen but was then called upon to make a spot-start.
