Before their game against the Reds tonight at Citi Field, the Mets made a few roster moves, officially activating Javier Báez, optioning right-handed pitcher Trevor Williams to Triple-A Syracuse, designating left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda for assignment, and outrighting right-handed pitcher Akeem Bostick to Syracuse.
Those moves settle the team’s active roster, at least for now, after the Mets got Báez and Williams from the Cubs in a trade that sent outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong to Chicago.
In 361 plate appearances this year, Báez has hit .248/.292/.484 with 22 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 16 attempts.
