LOS ANGELES -- Left-handed reliever Josh Edgin officially will remain with Triple-A Las Vegas.
With the New York Mets’ bullpen performing well and with Edgin still not quite at his pre-Tommy John surgery form, the Mets took Edgin off his rehab assignment and optioned the southpaw on Tuesday. Edgin already had been pitching with the Pacific Coast League club on his 30-day rehab assignment, which expired Monday.
Edgin underwent Tommy John surgery on March 17, 2015.
During the Triple-A portion of his rehab assignment, Edgin tossed 3 2/3 no-hit innings spanning four appearances.
