The Mets optioned relief pitcher Jacob Rhame to Triple-A Las Vegas following Sunday’s win against the Marlins, reports Matt Ehalt. He has also reported that reliever Tim Peterson will be called up to take his place.
Rhame has struggled in his first year in the majors, posting a 7.97 ERA over 20.1 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander gave up the walk-off double to the Marlins’ Bryan Holaday in the 11th inning on Saturday. He recorded just one out, a sacrifice bunt by Magneuris Sierra.
