Amed Rosario must be happening in Vegas — because he’s staying in Vegas.
Even with Asdrubal Cabrera and Neil Walker on the disabled list, the Mets’ top prospect will remain at Triple-A Las Vegas, according to general manager Sandy Alderson, to receive more seasoning, as Jose Reyes, T.J. Rivera and Gavin Cecchini fill middle-infield roles in the majors.
The shortstop Rosario entered Thursday with a .333/.374/.496 slash line with seven homers and 45 RBIs for Las Vegas.
“First of all we have some good players here,” Alderson said before the Mets lost 8-3 to the Nationals at Citi Field.
