Mets’ offense disappears yet again as they fall in extras

Chris Flexen was the ultimate loser when the equivalent of two baseball games was over, but the loss really came down to the Mets inability to score once again. All night long it was one noncompetitive at-bat after another and rallies were nowhere to be seen.

The Mets did have an early lead on Amed Rosario’s RBI triple but that was it for the offense for quite awhile. Gio Gonzalez had no issues handling the lineup and neither did almost every other Milwaukee pitcher for the night.

Pete Alonso did get to Junior Guerra in the ninth to tie the game, but then the Mets played another full game without scoring.
