Noah Syndergaard will start his rehab assignment on Saturday after being sidelined with a torn lat. Syndergaard’s path back to a Major League mound will begin with the GCL Mets, where he is slated to throw one inning.
Syndergaard threw a bullpen session Wednesday and has reported no pain. He will surely require multiple rehab starts. For reference, Matt Harvey is going to make his return to the mound this weekend after four rehab starts between Brooklyn and Binghamton. Syndergaard can spend up to 30 days on rehab assignment if necessary.
