Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard received a second opinion on his strained right index finger Tuesday afternoon that confirmed the initial diagnosis, reports Mike Puma of the New York Post.
Syndergaard will rest before starting a throwing program, according to Puma.
Mets GM Sandy Alderson saud on Tuesday that nothing else has happened to Syndergaard injury-wise. The Mets just wanted to be sure they are taking the right steps.
"Nothing else has happened," Alderson said on a conference call. "We want to make sure the next step that we take and he takes is the right one.
