A nightmarish situation for the Mets ended up with Luis Rojas calling his ascension to being named Friday as manager of the Mets “a dream come true.”
Barely one week after Carlos Beltran was jettisoned in the wake of MLB’s investigation into the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scheme, the 38-year-old Rojas was introduced by Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen as the team’s skipper for 2020.
“This is a very exciting day for me, a dream come true for me to become the New York Mets manager. This was my dream,” Rojas said at Citi Field. “Standing here in front of you, I can share it right now.
