Vic Black pitched a perfect inning on Monday while rehabbing with Double-A Binghamton, and appears to be getting closer to his return to the Mets.
Black, whose fastball sat between 90 and 93 MPH and topped out at 94 MPH during his appearance on Monday, plans to pitch in another game on Tuesday. That would mark the first time this season that Black has appeared in back-to-back games.
Black also logged a scoreless appearance on Saturday, and told Lynn Worthy of the Press & Sun-Bulletin that his focus has been on his mechanics lately, not his velocity.
