Having once again found a disappointing way to finish a series with a one-run loss yesterday afternoon, the Mets (64-60) find themselves two games out of the third Wild Card spot in the National league this morning. And tonight, they begin a three-game series against a pretty damn good team: the Orioles (73-52).
Thus far on their home stand, the Mets are just 3-3 despite having played all six of those games against the A’s and Marlins. While Oakland is a slightly more respectable team, the Marlins were one of the very worst teams in baseball, and that was before they sold some of their best pieces at the trade deadline.
