The New York Mets’ managerial search, which has moved at a snail’s pace since the team announced that it had fired Mickey Callaway last month, finally sped up today. Numerous reports indicate that the team is close to making their decision as they continue to eliminate finalists.
Earlier today, it was reported that Tim Bogar would not be receiving a third interview with the club, meaning the race was down to four: Carlos Beltran, Eduardo Perez, Derek Shelton, and Pat Murphy. Each of the four remaining hopefuls had already had their third interview with the team, which consisted of a sit-down with Fred Wilpon.
