In a game where both teams had ample opportunities to win, the Mets squeaked out the victory and swept the Nationals in Washington. Adrian Gonzalez blasted a grand slam and Asdrubal Cabrera added a solo shot off Tanner Roark, but Matt Harvey was just as shaky. Bryce Harper took him deep early, but even with some troubles Harvey left with the lead. Robert Gsellman allowed the tying run to score, but the rest of the bullpen bent but never broke for the rest of the game. Seth Lugo did the heavy lifting to keep the Mets in it, and just as the clock struck midnight Yoenis Cespedes drove in the game-winning run.
